This really was one of the easiest contests we've ever run, so if you didn't enter, shame on you! Had you entered, perhaps you could be sipping Old Mission Peninsula wine and devouring Spanish dishes and rocking out during Paella in the Park in downtown Traverse City next Friday.
But here's who will be: SARAH CROWGEY of East Lansing and KRISTEN MESSNER of Traverse City! Congratulations, guys — the trusty random number generator over at Random.org has smiled upon you. Please email us to claim your prize! And a huge mega-big ginormous thank you to Porterhouse Productions and Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula for offering these up so we can have some fun and make some Michigan wine lovers happy!
If you didn't win, don't worry — you can still purchase tickets: just click here! And read on for more details about the event...
If you're not already familiar, Paella in the Park is an annual wine, food and entertainment festival with a twist — namely, seven of the WOMP wineries team up with seven local chefs, who produce 21 fresh, delicious, creative versions of the namesake Spanish dish onsite in giant pans. The paellas are all paired with WOMP wines. And there's plenty of live music to boot, all set against the scenic backdrop of the "Open Space" in downtown Traverse City, on the shores of West Grand Traverse Bay.
It's going on next Friday, Aug. 16, starting at 5 p.m. and running until 11 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door; admission includes five wine pour tokens, three 4 oz. servings of paella, all of the entertainment and a commemorative wine glass. Additional food and wine tickets will be available for purchase during the event.
We can't make it, so we're counting on YOU to go eat and drink our share! Don't let us down, OK?
As an addendum, we drew the winners randomly, so what entrants wrote didn't factor into who was chosen, but we love how much thought all of you put into your replies. Such as these, from the folks whose names were ultimately drawn:
Hmmm why do I want to attend Paella in the Park? Many reasons to be in fact but mostly because I LOVE the TC and surrounding areas oh and of course the WINE! Ever since my first trip up to go wine tasting I have been hooked. I look for all kinds of reasons to head north. From visiting family in the area to attending work conferences up there to go wine tasting. What better way to continue my adventures in wine country then to head to a festival in the park with food and wine! I continue to encourage friends and family of mine who have never gone to try it out. That is my hope that if I win these tickets I can take someone who has yet to enjoy the great taste and variety of Michigan Wine.
MBTB I ❤ what you do. Keep it up!
