His name is Blake Kownacki, and he's one of the partners in Detroit City Cellars, a would-be winery on Belle Isle ... if only they could get the city, state and residents on board with the plan. At a recent private tasting in downtown Detroit, Blake & Co. made their case about why Belle Isle is the perfect spot to plant grapes, both for viticultural and economic reasons.
