This edition of WIOG Weekly Roundup features some Michigan wines we drank over the last few months, plus tasting notes taken during our visit yesterday to Longview's tasting room in Cedar, on the Leelanau Peninsula. As we often stress, we're not wine experts, but we do taste a lot of Michigan wine. (You may have noticed.) - Chateau Chantal 2010 Proprietor's Reserve Cabernet Franc: "Fresh cherries and tobacco, red fruit and a ton of earthiness, complex, very dry, good robust tannins. I really enjoyed this wine." — Shannon
- Lawton Ridge 2010 "3": "Blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc. Chocolate-covered cherries, cigar box, rustic earthiness, raisins." — Shannon

- Chateau de Leelanau 2010 Solem Farms Red: "Hybrid red blend, bright cherries and raspberries, little spice, big fruit up front, good everyday pizza wine." — Shannon
- Free Run Cellars 2009 Dry Riesling: "Green apple, pear, limestone, a bit of grittiness and minerality, huge aromatics, very refreshing. I could drink this any night!" — Shannon
- Longview 2010 Cabernet Franc: "Raspberry, plum, cocoa, very delicious, a highlight of our tasting." — Shannon
