We've added a ton of new photos, a lot of YOUR Feedback Friday comments (and we keep soliciting and adding more), and notations on the 2012 Michigan Wine & Spirits Competition medal-winning wines, plus profiles for most of the larger new wineries that have come on board over the last several months. We still have a few more profiles to whip up, but we wanted to get you guys hooked up as soon as possible.
If you're already a user, it's a free update; for new users, the app is a one-time $2.99. It's compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android. Apple users can click here to go directly to the app in the iTunes store. Android users can search for "Michigan wine" or "Michigan By The Bottle" in the Android market on their devices.
Read on for more info about the app's features...
If you've never used it before, the MBTB app provides profiles for Michigan's wineries/tasting rooms (now around the triple digits!), with profiles, photos, listings of award-winning wines and, if we've been there, our personal favorites at that particular winery. You also can directly access their websites and related MBTB content, like articles, video features and podcasts. You can sort the wineries by trail and features/amenities, and — in perhaps the most useful feature — view an interactive map and see how far you are from the location and how to get there. It's kind of like your compass leading to Michigan wine.
We're avid iPhone/iPad users and we know that the decision to actually spend money on an app is often made with a lot of deliberation. (Free? Heck yeah! Paid? Hmm, let me do a cost-to-benefit analysis on this...) Now and then, we get a question about why we don't provide the app for free. But lest you imagine us rolling around, "Indecent Proposal"-style, in a pile of nickels and dimes (ha!), we should note that the majority of the cost goes to Apple/Android and our developer, without whom we would have never been able to create this app. The rest helps offset the time investment in generating the content (we personally compiled, arranged and wrote everything, and took most of the photos). We're confident you'll find this app worth your $2.99, and we hope you agree!
Here's some feedback users have submitted via our app:

Please let us know if you have any questions by emailing wine@michiganbythebottle.com. (Wineries and users, if you see any typos or any information that needs correcting, please, please, please let us know and we will be sure to fix it.) Cheers to technology!
