Many of the "passphrases" during our SUPER HUGE Michigan Wine Month Giveaway involved entrants posting about their favorite fare from that particular day's sponsor. But on a few days, we asked you to get creative — and get creative you did! In case you missed it, we wanted to share some of the highlights. Well, friends, this is it. It's May. Michigan Wine Month is technically over. But you and I know that it doesn't have to be an official holiday for us to enjoy Michigan wine, so we hope that even though the calendar has turned over to a new month, you'll keep supporting the state with every sip and continue visiting Michigan By The Bottle. We have plenty more coming up, including new podcasts, articles, video features, in-person gatherings and Tweet & Taste Michigan events. This year, we're making a big effort to get out to more wine trail events in all parts of the state so we can bring you coverage of what they're like and hopefully meet more of you in person. And, of course, we hope to maintain the thriving community of Michigan wine fans over on our Facebook page that seems to get bigger and bigger every day.

Well, MBTB fans, this is it: the end of the road. It's Day 30, the final day of Michigan Wine Month (sob!). We hope that you've enjoyed vying for prizes as much as we've enjoyed giving them away. (But keep your eyes peeled: We still may have a few surprises yet.) Today, we have a grand finale for you. The prize up for grabs is a "VIP Tour & Taste Certificate" from Chateau Chantal on Old Mission Peninsula. The certificate, valued at $150, provides up to six people with a private tour of the vineyards, wine cellar and winemaking processes, followed by a private tasting with, as Director of Marketing Marie-Chantal Dalese phrases it, "one of our knowledgeable and entertaining staff members." Reservations are required two weeks in advance; the certificate cannot be redeemed during the month of October.

Getting down to the wire here! Our second-to-last giveaway is a pair of tickets to the Traverse City Wine & Art Festival on Aug. 20 at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons (a.k.a., the old state hospital). Now in its third year, the event celebrates wine, food and culture of northern Michigan, featuring wine from Leelanau Peninsula, Old Mission Peninsula and Traverse City; sweet and savory food from Leelanau and TC restaurants; and art and musical performances by regional artists.The tickets, a $50 value, entitle the bearer to entry, entertainment, a commemorative wine glass and two full glass wine tickets.
